CasinoWays Close Account

How to take a short break, set a cool off, request self exclusion or close your CasinoWays account permanently. Clear steps for every option, with no email chain required.

Closing a CasinoWays account is a player decision and the platform has been built to make that decision easy to act on. There are four levels of separation available, from a brief reality check all the way through to permanent self exclusion, and each one lives inside the account area so you can act without waiting for a support reply. This page walks through all four options, the differences between them and how to get your balance out before the door closes.

Self exclusion is permanent for the chosen period and cannot be reversed before it ends. If you are excluding because gambling has become a problem, please also contact BeGambleAware on 0808 8020 133.

What options are available to step back from CasinoWays?

The first option is a reality check, which is the lightest touch. Inside the Limits tab you can set a reminder that pops up every fifteen, thirty or sixty minutes during a session, showing time played, net result and giving you a one click logout. Use this when play is going fine but you want a regular nudge to step away.

The second option is a cool off, which is a temporary block on the account. Available durations are 24 hours, seven days, thirty days and ninety days. During the cool off you cannot log in, deposit or wager, but withdrawals already in progress complete normally and the account balance is preserved. The cool off ends automatically at the chosen time and the account returns to its previous state. The third option is self exclusion, available from six months up to permanent. This is the heaviest tool and cannot be lifted early. The fourth option is permanent account closure, which is more straightforward than self exclusion and is the right choice if you simply want to leave the site rather than block yourself from returning.

How to close your account in three steps

  1. 1

    Withdraw your balance

Send any cash balance to your preferred payment method first; cleared bonus money cannot be withdrawn.

  2. 2

    Open the account menu

Click the avatar in the header, then go to Account, then Close Account.

  3. 3

    Choose a reason and confirm

Pick the closure reason that fits and confirm the email check; closure takes effect within a few minutes.

What happens to my balance and bonuses?

A cash balance is paid out to the payment method you choose at the moment of closure. Card, e-wallet, bank transfer or crypto, all options remain available during the closure window. Outstanding bonuses with unmet wagering are forfeited; this is standard in the industry and is set out in the bonus terms at the point of claim. Any pending withdrawals already in progress complete normally regardless of the closure status. If you close the account with a small balance below the minimum withdrawal threshold, the support team can release it manually on request before the closure completes.

Loyalty points and tier status are erased on closure. Reopening the account at a later date, which is possible only after a temporary closure rather than after permanent self exclusion, restarts loyalty from bronze. Free spins and bonus credits do not survive closure. If you want to preserve a balance for a return, a cool off is the better choice than a closure.

What is the difference between closure and self exclusion?

Account closure is a clean exit. You decide to stop, the account closes, the cash balance is paid out and you can open a new account in the future without any block. Self exclusion is a binding commitment to not gamble at CasinoWays for the chosen period. It cannot be lifted early, even at the player's request, and any attempt to open a new account with the same email, name or document during the exclusion period is blocked. The protection level is much higher and the right tool changes depending on what you are trying to achieve.

If the reason for stepping back is that gambling has stopped being fun, self exclusion is the right tool. If the reason is that you simply prefer a different casino or you want to step away from gambling for non problem reasons, account closure is the right tool. Both are available, both work as advertised and both can be set up in a couple of minutes from the account area.

A cool off is not a failure. It is a reset. Two weeks away from the site is often enough to remember why play was fun in the first place.

Can I reopen my account after closure?

Yes, an account closed without self exclusion can be reopened by contacting support from the email address that was registered to the account. The support team will verify identity, confirm that no self exclusion is active and reactivate the account, usually within the same working day. Reactivation preserves the email address as your login but starts loyalty at bronze and does not restore historic bonuses. If a self exclusion period was set, the account cannot be reopened until that period ends.

For self exclusion periods that have ended, a manual review takes place before the account is reopened. The support team will ask a few questions to confirm that returning to play is a considered decision. This is not a barrier, it is a safety check. Most reviews complete within 48 hours and the account is reopened after a 24 hour cooling off period from the moment of approval.

A few practical notes before you confirm

Two small details catch people out at the final confirmation step. First, the closure email is sent to the address on file, so if you have changed email provider since signing up, update the email in the account profile before starting the closure or you will not receive the confirmation. Second, any subscriptions to newsletter or SMS marketing are cancelled automatically as part of the closure flow, so there is no separate unsubscribe step to chase down afterwards. If you only want to stop marketing rather than close the account, the same toggles are available in the Communications tab without touching the closure flow at all.

If you need help at any stage of the closure process, the support team is reachable around the clock through live chat and email. The team can confirm balances, process manual payouts under the minimum withdrawal threshold, walk you through self exclusion and answer any question about what happens next. For independent support beyond CasinoWays, the resources on the Responsible Gambling page include BeGambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline. The Get Help page has the full support contact details if you have a non closure question to raise.
